The Snails

The brown striped snail:

what do you think it happening here?

Chowing down on a green bean!

The yellow snail - pomacea canaliculata - Mello Yello -- She's HUGE:

Fixing to surf down to the bottom of the tank:

Climbing back up.

3/21/04 - Makin babies

I first noticed the brown striped snail on Mello Yello's shell when MY was trying to shake him off. Then I looked closer and low and behold, I believe they're doing the wild thing.

3/20/04 - Here are the snail eggs.

3/21/04 - The eggs almost a week later.

Stowaway ramshorns who came in on some plants.

A pond snail hitching a ride and getting a free meal from Mello Yello.

04/13/04 A pond snail and an egg.

04/13/04 A Malaysian Trumpet Snail we got for free today.

04/13/04 Mello Yello eating a algae wafer.

04/26/04

The little ones had been working on an algae wafer all day. Along comes Mello Yello... who wants some too!

I'm starting to get worried cuz there are little ones all over it... and they're not budging....

So Mello Yello reaches back...

and grabs the wafer I put in this evening when I was doing the evening feeding of beasties. The little ones hadn't dogpiled that one yet.

Everyone's happily munching down now.

Well... almost everyone! I think the betta is a bit jealous.

11/20/04 7 new mystery snails (Pomacea Bridgesii). Ivory, mahogony, and purple.

Dark footed.. maybe the mahagony.

Purple striped.

Looks like the ivory is a male.
